• With a fore vision, to fight with global warming. In October 1st, 2007, we set up the first specialized organization, Low Carbon Community Development Center, for GHGs reduction.
  
  

  New Taipei City GHGs reduction goals

  1. 2016 back to 2008 level, 20% off by 2026 in 2006 level.
  2. 5% renewable energy usage by 2015, 15% by 2026.
  3. 40% public transportation usage by 2016, 50% by 2026.
  4. Extending exclusive bikeway length to 300km by 2009, 500km by 2011.
  5. Turn public buses into electric buses by 2016, 50% vehicles will be electric in New Taipei City by 2026
  6. Charging pay-as-you-throw municipal waste fee in whole New Taipei City by 2010.

  1. Established 21 Regional Low Carbon Promotion Centers
  2. Low-carbon campus and community labels
  3. Financial aids for energy-saving lamps
  4. Financial aids for high efficiency air condition systems
  5. Green Hua Tuo(counselor)－house call doctors for low carbon diagnoses
  6. Subsidies for electric motorcycles
  7. Subsidies for LPG taxis
  8. Online carpool system among cities
  9. Public bicycle rental system
  10. Low-carbon tourism in Pinglin and Shuangsi
  11. Promoting LC Products－Solar energy and wind power
  12. Low-Carbon Expo－more than 250,000 visitors during 30 days
